Pneumatics or Servos - Where, When and Why

In a new eBook on the latest thinking on issues related to Motors & Drives, Emerson takes on one of the key questions of motion control – pneumatics or servos?

Since so many IIoT-related applications involve motion, this issue arises in a wide range of industries. The article, on page 24 of the eBook, says that while general wisdom assumes that pneumatic motion control is seen as a cost-effective technology with less precision, and servo motors are considered more suitable for high-performance applications with high precision requirements, in fact, each technology has unique benefits. There are even applications where either or both can be appropriate solutions.

For an in-depth tutorial on why, when and how to use pneumatic versus servo motion technology, check out the eBook, page 24, and please feel free to join the discussion.
