SFC Alias References

Is there a way from DeltaV Explorer to search for all places a module is references as an Alias? When you lookup 'References', all that comes up are the places where the tag is explicity referenced by its name, but it does not include where it is used as an Alias or Recipe parameter. The same occurs when I search using CTRL+F.

  No, the only way to really do this today is to export the database and search the FHX for the module name and review the FHX prior to know what Unit Instance the module name is being used in an alias.

  If your issue is just aliases, I would use User-defined export to export ALL the alias resolutions in your database, using the default format file Aliases.fmt and then you can search in Excel.

  For a very large databases this method takes quite awhile to select all the units instances and sometimes can't select all the items needed so you have to do the bulk edit export multiple times. It also will only find aliases where using FHX search will find other locations where module name would be referenced (i.e. string parameters, dynamic reference setup, etc).

  No need to select unit instances if you search like I showed on the screenshot: all objects of type AliasBinding. Takes me 5-10 minutes total to export 25000 aliases, virtualized DeltaV 13. But yes, it only covers aliases.
