Vortex Meter PV is in SCFH. To display this on Delta-V What is the L-type of the AI Block?

I have a Vortex meter by Rosemount, configured 0-2833333SCFH for LRV-URV. output is 4-20mA HART. I checked the AI block configuration on Delta-: XD_SCALE 0-100(No unit); L-Type: Indirect Sqrt; OUT_SCALE 0-68 MMSCFD.

My concern is why the Sqrt when the vortex meter brings in flow and not differential pressure??
